
Production Operative
You’ll be responsible for producing our handcrafted pots to a high standard, supporting daily production tasks, and maintaining attention to detail throughout the making process ensuring every piece meets British Flowerpots’ quality standards. No prior experience is required — beginners are welcome, and full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
​You will be cross-trained across all areas of production, including:​​

Clay production: preparing and managing clay to required specifications

Pot production:

Operating machinery

Hand-finishing pots on the wheel

Quality control: checking pots throughout the process to ensure consistent size, finish, and quality

Kiln packing: safely loading and unloading kilns to maximise efficiency and prevent damage

Packing and labelling: preparing finished pots for sale, ensuring correct labelling and presentation

Palletising: stacking, wrapping, and preparing pots for shipment to customers and garden centres

General production support: maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment

Team support: assisting colleagues across departments during busy seasonal periods
About you

Previous factory, crafting, trade or hands-on work experience preferred

Physically capable of manual handling (large ceramic pots)

A practical, hands-on approach to work

High attention to detail and quality

Willingness to learn new skills across multiple production areas

Reliability and a positive team attitude

Ability to take instruction
Pay & Benefits

£12.50 per hour - 37.5 hours a week

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, 30 minutes for lunch

28 paid annual leave day a year (including bank holidays)
